![]() I am hoping that you, or someone else on this forum, can provide me more meaningful information on how I can overcome this problem. You have millions of PCs in use, how can it be that customers should not be proactive in updating BIOS versions? It is physically impossible for HP to contact all customers impacted by a significant BIOS update. I’m confused by your comment that “HP does not recommend a BIOS update unless recommended by an HP technician”. ![]() I have also now checked the BIOS version via msinfo, it shows BIOS version F.45. ![]() I am checking the BIOS version in the BIOS, it shows F.45. I am not facing any known issues with the laptop. “HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updated BIOS version which supersedes all previous releases.” Are these statements erroneous? If they are in fact accurate, it sounds like I should install this update. I am attempting to update the BIOS because HP states on the Details tab for this newer version (F.46 Rev.!, sp84005): “Provides improved security of UEFI code”.
